What we did:
We were tasked with wiring up a full bms system to control the air and heat to an office block inside of a cold storage unit, this consisted of 2 air handling units, one for the office block and one for the canteen area. This was fully remote manageable so every aspect of the controls can be used and programmed from anywhere. For this project we had to wire up several valves, fans, actuators and dampers to control the airflow. Also integrated was 2x gas fired boilers to heat the outgoing air to a comfortable temperature using flow control and heat exchangers.
The whole system was also linked to the safety devices in the building so in the event of a fire everything shut down – eg – gas valve, boilers, extractor fans and all airflow so as not to spread the fire.
